so long

The rain kinda killed the dance party at the wedding. Work is eating all my time like some sort of time eating bacteria. Its pretty gross.

I need a preamp for my deck. No one in town sells 'em. Any suggestions on where to get one online? Thanks in advance.

Thats it, 82 songs. Over 5 hours of music. It was randomly arranged by my housemate, plus we are going to throw the stereo on shuffle so to totally randomize it.

That is like if we actually did it. Someone else did, and yes they deserve to be sued.

* - I honestly don't know the name of this song. Hell I don't think I heard it. I just typed it here
** - Not My Choice By Any Means! Just for the title you know.
*** - I am not sure if I am reading from the same Stevie Wonder Greatest Hits album

coming for my creamation

I am right this second making six or seven huge mix disks for the purpose of giving us dancing music at my friends wedding this coming weekend. Despite all of my friends misgivings for my love of the hellspawn indie music I managed to slip some sweet tracks in. I will try to post them up later.

My main plan is to slip KMFDM's "Juke Joint Jezebel" into the mix under someone elses name. I also think that we need a hell of a lot more Tom Jones. But no, thats not 'cool'. And they call me an elitist.

Toys

Much to the chagrin of my girlfriend, my housemate got me a Technics SL-B20 for my birthday. (I know that that isn't it in this picture but its a really shy turntable) It comes with promises of being totally refurbished and whatnot. So I threw on one of my three(!) records and tried it out. I have to turn my stereo up to about two/thirds of its total volume to be able to hear anything. So it looks like I will be buying even more stereo equipment, not to mention a ton of vinyl, oh and some roses every now and then. Love you honey!

Let's see, You can pre-order the new Magnolia Electric Co ep "Hard To Love A Man" from Secretly Canadian right this second. I haven't done it yet since I am going to bundle a pretty big order. I won't tell you what but I will give you a hint - PREVIOUS PARAGRAPH. Be wary though, those SC'ers are hit and miss on actually sending you your purchase.

Also SC added I Love You, But I Have Chosen Darkness to their roster. Its the band that's produced, or was produced at some time, by Britt Daniels.

Have you seen the video for "I Turn My Camera On"? Its pretty crazy.

Oh and I am going to throw a link to Radiohead's blog - Dead Air Space. I couldn't miss jumping on this bandwagon. Everytime I see the name however, it just makes me want to watch this StrongBad Email. Dead Air, Um... Dead Air. Hehe.

Two a days

I really need to figure out how to access the webspace Qwest gave me so I can start throwing up some images.

Speaking of beauty from the last post, I started reading Jonathan Safran-Foer's "Everything is Illuminated". I got hit upside the with a single line and had to put the book down and go outside and think about it for a while. It was a great line, to me at this point in time at least.

Also if anyone from the Minneapolis, MN are going to any shows the first two weeks of October email me. I would like to hang out with people when I am up there and I don't know if the friends I will be visiting will be up for the hardcore life that we - you and I - live every day. Also I hate being alone at shows. I promise to buy a round.

Phi Slicker-Knickers

I have no idea what the subject means, I just think that it might be an awesome nickname for a sorority out there. This past weekend I was hanging out with great friend of mine from college who happened to be in a sorority. There isn't really a connection there. I just think of funny-sounding phrases, so please don't blackball me kindly Chi-Ohs. It wasn't fun when the Zeta's did that.

Anyways, I finally got around to cleaning out several of my emails accounts from my two months of not checking them. I never realize how much I need cialis. This did give me a long time to get really indepth with some of the cds that I have purchased recently. These opinions will take time to fully develope to the point that I can convince myself I like them so I can be pretentious.

I know I drop the Chromewaves name a lot. But Frank is numero uno in the places I check up on daily. So I tend to credit him with alot. He finally got the Magnolia Electric Company pics up, (link) but doesn't quite understand whats the fascination with Jason Molina.

I have been trying to understand this concept for so long that the point has become moot. All I can think of is that you have to have some sort of black patch on your soul somewhere, or a sort of depressive bone in your body. Not that Songs:Ohia fans are all doom and gloomers, but you have to have the mindset to think that driving out in the country to that abandoned owl inhabited barn where you and your recently broken-up with sweetie had your first kiss during a moonlit filled night just to sit there and think can be one of the most beautiful things you could ever experience. That sentence is probably horrible to understand I am sorry.

How about thinking that candles burned to their bottoms are more beautiful than tall unburned ones. That conveys the same vision to me at least.

Also from CW - MEC interview with JunkMedia. Jason tells that he likes to do shows in towns that are about two hours apart. Dallas to Tucson is considerably longer than that. I am calling your bluff Molina. This is just part one of the interview so this is also a reminder to me to read part two.

strung along...

Frank's stringing me along by waiting until monday to report on the Magnolia Electric Company show he went to someplace in Toronto. Well its not like he is stringing ME along, just everyone. Mainly I am looking forward to the pictures.

My housemate and I are downloading random shows from the internet archive. It makes for some strange listening. Hank Williams III's heavy metal stuff is off the wall.
