Mission Statement
Here is the thing with record reviews. Everyone is rushing to get the promo disk and have the first reveiw out there while the record is still in the oven or cooling on the windowsill. That is of course the media blitz that help sell records and build buzz about the band/album. Unless you are some sort of music industry insider or psychic you will use reviews to help you pick purchases when the disk comes out. What about that disk you forgot though? You always meant to pick it up but never did. Does it hold up to time? Will you pull that disk out for your kids one day? Everyone is in a rush to get a review out that no one ever thinks of how well it will age.
Not here. That is going to be all I think about. Plus it gives me more elastic deadlines.
I propose to give the music time to air, mature in my mind. See what happens. I will be doing reviews starting in either May or June of 2005 and then it's on. As fast as I can push these puppies out. But I promise to give each album AT LEAST SIX MONTHS to try and get on my good side. Also I will only be doing reviews of albums that I own, not cd-r's of other albums. I figure that will keep me honest. Plus it will keep me from only listening to something half-heartedly. So what I buy or receive (contact me at this email addy) I will review. what can it hurt.

Let the countdown begin.
